Bloom Energy Servers – New technology by K.R.Sridhar (Indian)
SJRANJAN
Bloom Energy Servers are little boxes like tiny power plants. They are mainly run by
any fuel source like natural gas, solar energy and others. They are used minimally
to create a reaction with oxygen to convert it into electrical energy.
Companies such as Adobe Systems, Ebay, Google, FedEx, and Wal-Mart have already purchased larger sized boxes.
K.R. Sidhar, who is originally from Tamil Nadu (India), is the founder of Bloom Energy, the company that invented the Bloom Box. He was formerly a professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering as well as Director of the Space Technologies Laboratory (STL) at the University of Arizona.
Sridhar was awarded a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology at Tiruchirappalli, India in 1982. He moved to the United States in the 1982s and gained an M.S. in nuclear engineering and a PhD in mechanical
engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
