Chilean Earthquake – Most powerful earthquake ever recorded on Earth

Great Chilean Earth QuakeThe most powerful earthquake(9.5 magnitude) recorded on our planet earth is "Great Chilean Earthquake".

Valdivia was the most affected city in this disaster so it was also called as "1960 Valdivia earthquake".

It occurred in the afternoon of May 22nd 1960. It was a Sunday.

It results tsunami, which affects Japan, Chile, Hawaii, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, and few Islands as well.

The underground explosion originates near Lumaco town in Chile.

About 6000 dead in this disaster and 800 million dollars (US)  of economic damage happens as well.
