Tangshan EarthquakeTangshan, the large industrial city of china hit by a powerful earthquake on July 28,
1976.

It was Wednesday.

The Tangshan Earthquake is the largest earthquake(7.8 on the Richter scale) of 20th century by death count. As per Chinese government reports the number of deaths at this disaster is at least 2,55,000 and around 1,64,000 people were severely injured.
 

The economic loss due to this disaster was calculated approximately to 10 billion yuan(Chinese currency).

After earthquake many countries came forward to help china. But Chinese government completely refused to accept aid from others and they itself rebuilt the city again.

They built an earthquake memorial in Tianjin as well.

Now the city is called as "Brave City of China". It is home for more than three million people.
